Correcting the pH without correcting the alkalinity is wasting the product
Imagine trying to keep a boat straight without a keel: any wave will tilt it. That's what happens to the pH when alkalinity is low. You can add as much pH increaser as you want, but without the alkalinity in place the pH will not stabilize and you will end up spending double.
- pH that drops after every storm.
- Excessive consumption of correctors.
- Irregular disinfection.
- Firm pH against rain and swimmers.
- Occasional and small corrections.
- Balanced water all summer.
First, alkalinity
Two steps for stable water all summer
The method is always the same: stabilize the alkalinity first and, with it already corrected, fine-tune the pH. Both products are available in 6 kg size:
Stabilize TAC
6 kg alkalinity increaser to keep it between 100 and 150 ppm.
Alkalinity increaserDuring the season
When pool alkalinity drops
Total Alkalinity does not stay fixed forever. These are the situations where it is advisable to measure it and, if it is below 100 ppm, correct it:
- When filling or opening the pool: new water rarely comes with the ideal alkalinity.
- After heavy rains: rainwater dilutes the alkalinity.
- After refilling due to evaporation: each addition of water changes the balance.
- With intensive use: many swimmers and a lot of disinfectant consume alkalinity.
- If the pH does not stay: it is the clearest sign that TAC is low.
